While many technology management programs focus on IT, EMTM builds leadership across the spectrum of industries affected by rapidly changing technologies and business models. Recent students and graduates include the president of a thermal process systems manufacturer; a technical apparel designer with WL Gore developing specialty products for the military, fire, police and HAZMAT workers; a section head for R&D at Procter & Gamble; and a senior IT manager with sportswear giant Nike.
What attracts students from manufacturing and consumer goods companies to the program?
EMTM’s core curriculum provides a strong management framework, including courses in Finance, Marketing, Operations Management and Strategic Management. Beyond this, elective courses and special program features offer the knowledge and leadership skills needed in industries that depend on staying ahead of the curve in new technical and scientific developments.
- Technology electives selected from areas as diverse as Nanotechnology, Robotics, Biotechnology, IT Strategy and Software Engineering.
- Management electives in courses such as Supply Chain Management, R&D Management, Negotiations and Leadership.
- Global exposure through EMTM’s optional Global Experience Program.
- Special workshop options in interest areas that range from Project Management and Energy Sustainability to Career Management and Communications.
