Message from the Director
Exciting times at EMTM: The admissions process is in full swing, the second new technology elective in Energy has begun,
and students are back from the 2010 EMTM Global Experience Program trip. Recruiting events in a host of East Coast cities
have yielded a 25% increase in early decision applications. And the final event in the
EMTM 20th Anniversary Celebration series will feature Clay Christensen from Harvard, who will discuss “Creating
Growth Businesses that Will Succeed.”

on the practical application of relevant science, business management concepts and public policy developments.

The Wharton Venture Initiation Program (VIP) gives University of Pennsylvania students the opportunity to bring a business
idea to fruition through the help of seasoned advisers, educational programs and networking sessions, and EMTM students are
using this invaluable resource to launch innovative enterprises.
