3:00-3:30 Registration, Welcome and EMTM Update
3:30-5:00 EMTM Annual Alumni Lecture
5:00-6:30 Reception with EMTM Alumni and Students
6:30-7:30 EMTM Seminar
EMTM Annual Alumni Lecture (3:30 pm - 5:00 pm) Unlike any program at the University of Pennsylvania, EMTM offers a blend of course work that allows its students and graduates to apply the interdisciplinary insights of science and business to the advancement of their own careers and the growth of their companies in ways that most professionals are unsuited to provide. As such, the EMTM program creates a unique kind of power for its students; but as Archbishop Desmond Tutu observes, "The purpose of power is for service." This address to EMTM alumni and students will focus on the application of the tools and insights gained in the EMTM program for successful commerce in the emerging markets and developing countries through the formation and growth of successful business relationships, private equity activity, and ethical and responsible manufacturing and sale of products and services. The theme will be economic development, but from a mutually beneficial perspective, and as such giving members of the EMTM community a means of discharging their duty of service."
