Campus Visit — Frequently Asked Questions

What's involved in a typical visit?

EMTM visits are intended to help you experience what it's like to be part of this program — to sit in on a class or seminar and to meet and talk with current students. There is no formal presentation or information session. The focus is on putting you directly in touch with the people and classes that make EMTM what it is. Typically, you will meet a student host at the start of your visit and will attend a class (either morning or afternoon) and lunch with your host. You'll also have the opportunity to meet other students during breaks and lunch, and can take time on your own to explore the campus and related facilities.

I am traveling from out of town. Where do you recommend that I stay?

EMTM students stay at Philadelphia's University City Sheraton Hotel (36th & Chestnut Streets). You may find it convenient to make reservations there, especially if you are planning to meet your student host on Friday or Saturday morning before class. Other campus hotels are also open to the public, and the campus is easily accessible from center city hotels as well.

Can I schedule an interview as part of my visit?

Interviews are generally reserved for individuals who have started or already submitted their applications. If your visit requires significant air travel, however, and you have a serious interest in applying to the program, you may request an interview as part of your campus visit. You will be asked to provide a current resume in advance.

What directions and contact information do I need?

Directions and campus maps are available at the main Visit EMTM page. We will be in touch with you once you have registered your visit request. When your visit is scheduled, you will receive specific information about times, locations and staff and student host contacts. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us by phone or e-mail.
